Suitable protective lenses reduce the amount of relevant optical energy reaching the eyes. This matters because exposure can come from the direct beam as well as light reflected from surfaces, equipment or the treatment area.

Goggles must be worn correctly and remain securely positioned throughout the procedure. They should not be lifted, loosened or removed while the equipment is active.

Appropriate eye protection should be considered for everyone who may be exposed while the laser or IPL system is in use. The practitioner and client may require different eyewear designs because their position, visibility needs and proximity to the treatment area are not the same.

This depends on the dimensions of the prescription frames and the shape of the protective goggles. A pair that sits comfortably over small frames may not fit securely over wider or deeper frames.

Use a soft lint-free cloth and a mild cleaning method suitable for the supplied lens material. Abrasive cloths, rough paper products and aggressive chemicals can mark the lenses or damage their surfaces.

Allow the goggles to dry fully, then store them in a clean protective case away from treatment-room clutter. Inspect them again before the next use rather than assuming they remained undamaged in storage.
