The position

About the role

British Institute of Lasers supplies laser and IPL equipment to clinics across the UK and overseas. Our engineers and support staff help clients understand, purchase and maintain equipment with clear advice and practical technical support.

We are looking for a Regional Sales Consultant to represent our product range within a defined UK area. You will visit clinics, introduce relevant systems and demonstrate how different technologies can support their treatment offering.

Some clients will already know exactly what they are looking for. Others may need help comparing technologies, understanding treatment capabilities or deciding which machine suits their client base and commercial plans. Your job is to listen properly, explain the options and keep the buying process moving without making it feel pressured.

The role also involves careful follow-up. Enquiries, quotations and demonstrations need consistent attention, and the internal team should have accurate updates on each opportunity.

Your work

Main responsibilities

Visit clinics

Travel throughout your assigned region to meet clinic owners, practitioners and prospective customers.

Demonstrate equipment

Present laser and IPL systems clearly, explaining the controls, treatment capabilities and practical differences.

Discuss client needs

Learn how each clinic operates and recommend equipment that fits its services, clients and working environment.

Build client relationships

Develop useful, lasting relationships with new prospects and existing British Institute of Lasers customers.

Manage quotations

Follow up product enquiries, quotations and demonstrations with accurate information and sensible next steps.

Record sales activity

Keep opportunity records current and share useful updates with the internal sales and support teams.

Represent the company

Present British Institute of Lasers in a warm, informed and professional way at every clinic visit.

Support clients after purchase

Stay connected after a sale and help clients reach the correct team when they need training, service or advice.

How you will sell

A consultative approach

Listen first

Understand the clinic's current services, client profile, commercial plans and concerns before recommending equipment.

Explain clearly

Turn detailed product information into useful, straightforward guidance without oversimplifying important points.

Recommend honestly

Help clients compare suitable options and understand the practical advantages and limitations of each system.

Follow through

Maintain contact after demonstrations and quotations, answering questions and keeping agreed actions moving.

Full product training will help you build the technical knowledge required for the role. You should still be comfortable learning detailed information and discussing equipment with confident clinic owners and practitioners.

Experience and approach

What we are looking for

  • Previous sales experience, ideally involving medical, aesthetic, technical or higher value products.

  • Confidence presenting equipment and speaking with clinic owners, managers and practitioners.

  • The ability to learn technical product details and explain treatment capabilities accurately after training.

  • Strong communication skills with a warm, composed and approachable manner.

  • A willingness to travel regularly throughout an assigned UK region.

  • Organised working habits and accurate records for enquiries, demonstrations and quotations.

  • The confidence to manage your own regional activity while remaining connected with the internal team.

  • A patient sales style based on useful advice, sensible follow-up and strong client relationships.

Working across your region

Independent days with a team behind you

Much of your week will be spent planning visits, travelling between clinics and following up conversations. Good preparation makes a difference. You should arrive understanding the client, the equipment being discussed and what they need from the meeting.

You will work independently across your region, but you will not be expected to know every technical answer immediately. Engineers and support colleagues can provide further detail where needed. The important part is recognising when to bring them into the conversation.

Reliable communication keeps everything joined up. Notes should be accurate, actions should be clear and clients should not have to chase repeatedly for an update.

Equal opportunities

British Institute of Lasers welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion or age.
