What is the Cost of Laser Hair Removal?

Laser and IPL hair removal is soaring in popularity. As more and more clinics are offering it across the country, the good news for us is that prices are more competitive than ever before.

The cost of laser hair removal can vary widely depending on the size of the area being treated, the type of laser being used, the type of hair in question (e.g. light hair vs afro Caribbean hair) and the number of treatments required. On average, a single laser hair removal treatment can cost anywhere from £100 to £1,000 or in some more. A full course of treatments (usually six), which is typically recommended in order to achieve the best results, can cost several thousand pounds in some cases (mostly London based clinics). Some laser hair removal clinics offer financing options or package deals to make the treatment more affordable.

Here are some typical costs for laser hair removal below:

Your dermatologist and laser technician will be able to advise you on the approximate amount of treatments you will need before you begin to see results. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for introductory offers and discounts on sites such as Treatwell.

Costs and Results from Laser and IPL hair removal machines

The costs of IPL and Laser Hair removal treatment varies, and we’ve written a full article outlining what the differences are.

It’s important to remember that in the case of laser hair removal, once you’ve completed enough treatments, the hair follicles in your skin will no longer function as normal. As a result, you will experience drastically less hair growth or even a temporary lapse in hair growth that can last anywhere between 6 to 12 months.

During this time you will have hardly any expenditure on hair removal products such as disposable razors and wax, which seem relatively inexpensive, but quickly tally up in your monthly spend.

IPL treatment will cost you about the same amount as laser hair removal for each session. However, since IPL hair removal machines do not remove body hair in the same way as laser hair removal, it’s likely that you will need more sessions of IPL to achieve the same results. For clinic and salon owners, at British Institute of Lasers, we stock our Nu TriLaze Plus laser machine, which as well as laser hair removal can be used to target broken capillaries, acne and other superficial skin treatments.
